LARDER LAKE GOLD ORE
Larder Lake Gold Ore - here's a nice gold ore specimen consisting of a quartz-gold hydrothermal vein and its host rock. This auriferous quartz vein has intruded an Archean, fuchsite-rich metamorphic rock. Fuchsite is a greenish, chromian mica. This comes from the Chesterville Mine in the Larder Lake Mining District of Ontario, Canada.
Sample owned by the Geology Department of Ohio State University (Columbus campus, Ohio, USA).
